Welcome to Watercolor
Featuring nostalgic architecture and picturesque coastal dunes
Home to an award-winning resort and incredible residential homes and condominiums, WaterColor exudes a nostalgic Old Florida vibe with its wide-porch houses and bountiful state parks.
Offering panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico and Western Lake, one of South Walton’s most picturesque coastal dunes, residents enjoy outdoor activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, and biking.
Featuring some of the area’s most impressive restaurants—FOOW (Fish out of Water) and The Wine Bar—WaterColor is also home to many quaint shops and boutiques, giving the community a relaxing, small-town feel.
Each year WaterColor plays host to the Mountainfilm on Tour Festival, a two-night outdoor film festival dedicated to educating, inspiring, and motivating audiences, and the Harvest Wine & Food Festival, a three-day event featuring celebrity winemaker dinners, an al fresco reserve tasting, and grand tasting showcasing more than 250 wines.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
There are a handful of dining options at WaterColor Inn & Resort, including FOOW (formerly Fish Out of Water). The upscale spot features a menu full of fresh, local fish infused with Southern flavors.
The Wine Bar is another favorite, equipped with a French bistro-inspired interior and an adjoining market.
For a little retail therapy, visit Blue Giraffe, which is run by a mother-daughter duo and offers an assortment of beach-inspired goods, gifts, and artwork.
Things to Do
The BoatHouse, which sits on the banks of Western Lake, is a great place to rent canoes or kayaks and sign up for an adventure tour. Stand-up paddleboard rentals, lessons, tours, and workouts are also available here too.
You can pick up a bike at the adjacent WaterColor Bike Barn and explore WaterColor’s extensive woodland trail system.
