Welcome to Seaside
This walkable community features a thriving town center
Credited with the birth of New Urbanism, the design style that places everything within a short walk of a town’s center, Seaside was established in 1982 with a clear focus on community. Considered the unofficial capital of Scenic 30A, real estate opportunities are competitive here, and many owners opt to pass on their properties to their children.
Consisting of more than 300 homes, the community offers an abundance of restaurants, shops, and art galleries and is designed to make walking more convenient than driving.
The streets here were designed with pedestrians in mind, and a grid of sandy footpaths behind and between the cottages links the entire town.
Its many pastel homes make the look of this beach town iconic, and the community is home to many festivals and events throughout the year. Live music often plays in the open-air amphitheater, and you’ll find performing arts at The REP. A weekly farmers’ market provides fresh produce and lots of socialization.
